J-Hope of BTS Revealed 2 Songs and Spoke About Whether He Would Collaborate With Kendrick Lamar

On Weverse, J-Hope said he was delaying an album and teasing two new songs after releasing “Sweet Dreams.”

J-Hope of BTS is back and not wasting any time. In the midst of his hectic promotional schedule for his new single, “Sweet Dreams,” and following his impressive appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Hobi had one more surprise planned. During an unplanned live performance on Weverse, the singer teased listeners with the straightforward yet amusing statement, “I have big news.” All it needed for ARMY to begin guessing was that. Was the album brand-new? A journey? A return?

J-Hope had decided to hold the impromptu live in part because he “just missed ARMY.” But this was definitely not all. Amid the excitement surrounding his latest solo single, “Sweet Dreams,” which features American singer-songwriter Miguel, J-Hope indicated to fans that there are actually two singles coming after his section from the “Despacito” dance challenge. Long-time ARMYs should’ve been ready for anything coming from BTS, but some fans were surprised.

Hoping for a full-length album, but J-Hope clarified he’s now focusing on singles. The rapper went on to discuss why he hasn’t been able to release a full album just now. According to him, he still feels like an artist-in-training and is very much into not rushing into things. For him, it is very important to understand that an album is more than just a couple of songs thrown together; it has to tell a certain story or go into a particular direction.

Naturally, fans took to social media to respond to that statement. That just shows how much J-Hope cares about his music and future as an artist. And trust us, when he does drop a full-length album, it is definitely going to be something epic. Fans termed it “surprising” but said it gave them flashbacks of the day Suga announced his very first solo world tour during an impromptu live.

What comes next can be heard as a teaser on J-Hope’s latest single, “Sweet Dreams,” launched on March 7. For the uninitiated, this is his first album after Hope on the Street, Volume 1.
