Aiden, whom she does not like, is choosing to disbelieve Kristine Bennett’s declaration before her husband, Michael (Duplass), to her.
When the Bennett family began to raise Natalia with three biological siblings, questions started to arise regarding Natalia’s peculiar age and story, which left them wondering whether she is not what she says she is. As the daughter has her own war that eventually spills into tabloids and the courtroom, the couple started to save their family from a daughter they derive threats from.
