Ariana Grande Dispels the Myth That She Was Abandoned by Her Therapist
In a recent interview for ‘The Hollywood Reporter,’ the singer/actress also talked about the criticism she faced during her peak pop popularity.
Regarding a previous rumour, Ariana Grande is speaking up.
The 31-year-old actress/singer talked candidly about her quick ascent to fame as a pop artist. She spoke about a rumour that her therapist had abandoned her in a new cover story for The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday, February 11.
In reference to a tabloid article at the time, Grande told the outlet, “I was so lucky to have incredible friends and family and an incredible therapist, even though there were rumours about her leaving me.” “It was just a crazy time: I just wanted to sing and have it be about my work, and it seemed like more people were trying to ruin me the more successful the music got.”

The “Into You” singer also discussed why it was a welcome change from her pop persona for Glinda in Wicked in other parts of the conversation.
Grande stated, “Because it is a character, you eventually grow weary of that [pop star] character.” “Your songwriting contains snippets of you and your story, but it escapes you due to the way it spreads and gets sensationalised.”

And below it all is just a Boca girl who loves art, she added. “I think that’s why it’s been such a deeply healing gift to disappear into this character — to take off one mask and put on another,” she said.

Grande also disclosed that she had shed her trademark pop star appearance, which included a high ponytail and winged eyeliner, by the time of her second Wicked audition.
“Oh, that’s so silly, they know how talented you are,” would say some who didn’t understand. I responded, “That’s very nice, but Glinda needs so much.” This must be earned, and I don’t want it unless I’ve done so,” she remarked.
“It became this beautiful evolution of getting to know myself beneath it all,” Grande continued. “Oh my goodness, I love this person underneath the drag,” I thought.
