Country music artist Lainey Wilson got engaged after joking about proposing
‘Duck’ Hodges and Lainey Wilson announced their engagement on Instagram on February 12.
Lainey Wilson finally got the proposal she had been hoping for.
After joking about proposing to Devlin “Duck” Hodges after three years, Lainey Wilson announced her engagement on Instagram on February 12.
“4x4xU forever,” she wrote as the description for the post. It featured a video of her joy and pictures of the special moment.
Hodges, who works in real estate, was a player for the Los Angeles Rams and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Jelly Roll’s wife said she expected Wilson and Hodges to get engaged in 2025. This was during an interview with Bunnie Xo for CMT in January.
“Don’t worry, my brother! “Don’t worry,” Wilson told Bunnie. “I may need to ask him to marry me. We’re waiting.
“No, Duck will carry it out. “I sensed it,” Bunnie said.
“I like that,” said Wilson.

Wilson has already joked about proposing to the former NFL player. The “Heart Like a Truck” singer said they had been quietly dating for over two years when they appeared at the May 2023 ACM Awards.
She clarified, “We’re not secretly engaged,” during an appearance with the “Bobby Bones Show.” “No!
“But I guess I’m gonna have to propose to his a– ’cause he ain’t proposed to me,” laughed Wilson. “I think [an engagement] needs to be during a season of our life where we really have the time to, like, enjoy it.”

The “Yellowstone” singer said Hodges is “a good dude.” She talked about why they chose to keep their relationship private.
“He knows what it’s like chasing a dream because he’s done that for himself,” Wilson stated. “He played in the NFL. He literally tested out for the Pittsburgh Steelers, made the squad, and had an incredible run with them. I went to see the Los Angeles Rams and did it.

Wilson said her boyfriend is a “looker” while they were at the 2024 CMT Awards. She was excited for his support.
According to Wilson, “He’s one of my biggest cheerleaders,” FOX News Digital said. “I’ve always said that he’s the type of guy that will give you a high five as you enter and exit.
“Especially considering the nature of my work. Having those kinds of people in your life is vital. I’m grateful that he’s here with me because of this.
In June 2023, Wilson talked on “The Bobby Bones Show” about how Hodges got his nickname “Duck.”

“His college football coach said, ‘You’re among the best quarterbacks I’ve ever come across.'” And I had the opportunity to work with one of my favourite quarterbacks years ago, and we called him “Duck.” You remind me of him a lot.” “He and the team just kind of started calling him ‘Duck,'” she said.
