Mission: Impossible The Final Reckoning is an upcoming American action-spy film written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie. The screenplay was jointly written with Erik Jendresen. This movie, a direct sequel to Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, is also the eighth film in the Mission: Impossible franchise. Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, Angela Bassett, and Rolf Saxon reprise their roles from previous films.
In January 2019, Cruise announced that the seventh and eighth Mission: Impossible films would be shot back-to-back, with McQuarrie writing and directing both films. Plans for the film were later changed in February 2021. The casting announcement came shortly after, with some original members returning and others joining newly. Lorne Balfe, the composer of the score for two films previously in the franchise, will also be composing for this film. Filming began in the UK in March 2022, with other locations including Malta, South Africa, and Norway. Production was halted in July 2023 due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, resumed in March 2024, and concluded by November 2024. The film was named Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two until October 2023, when it dropped the subtitle and, in November 2024, a new one was announced. With a reported budget of US$400 million, it ranks as one of the most expensive films of all time.

The Final Reckoning is set for release in the United States on May 23, 2025, by Paramount.
