Watch How To Train Your Dragon Trailer
The film that started the cherished franchise is being beautifully reimagined in live-action by Dean DeBlois. He is the creative director of DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon trilogy. This trilogy has received critical acclaim and has been nominated for three Oscars and a Golden Globe.
Hiccup (Mason Thames) stands out on the rocky island of Berk. Dragons and Vikings have been fierce rivals for many generations. Hiccup, the creative but underappreciated son of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler), breaks with centuries of convention by becoming friends with Toothless, a Night Fury dragon that is feared.
Their improbable friendship challenges the fundamental tenets of Viking civilization. It exposes the true nature of dragons.
Hiccup faces a world split by mistrust and terror. He is accompanied by the feisty and aspirational Astrid (BAFTA candidate Nico Parker) and the village’s eccentric blacksmith Gobber (Nick Frost).
